Holiday Season 2007

Thanksgiving 2007 – Dan’s mom (Marybeth) and her husband (Burt) flew in from North Dakota. They were in town for about a week. We were able to spend a lot of great time with them. Burt was just dying to go up in the mountains and play in the snow. Dan and Dion took Marybeth and Burt up… unfortunately during that time of the year, there wasn’t any snow. So they built a big bonfire and spent the day catching up, afterwards they headed to the casino. The following day, we all went down to the Kent Station to do some shopping and go out to dinner. We were hoping to find some authentic clam chowder for Burt, but settled for The Keg. Thanksgiving Day we had a very nice dinner at Dion & Candy’s (Dan’s Brother).

Christmas 2007 – This Christmas started on Friday, December 21st. Katie’s sister (Heidi) and her husband (Casey) and his friend (Jason) flew in from Spokane. Saturday morning we woke up and went down to Pikes Place Market. After a long day of exploring Seattle, we met up with some friends at The Keg for dinner.

Sunday morning Katie, Heidi, Casey and Jason all got up to go to the Seahawks vs. Raven’s game. It was not easy leaving Dan…

The game was a BLAST!! We had amazing seats on the Seahawks side! You just can’t beat that. This was Heidi, Casey & Jason’s first time making it to a game. They could not believe how loud it can actually get there. SEATTLE WINS!!

The next morning (Christmas Eve) Katie, Alyssa, Heidi, Casey and Jason all get up early to fly to Spokane. From there we all drove to Kettle Falls and spent time with family.

Christmas morning we all woke up and opened Christmas presents that Santa had brought. Alyssa was very excited for her iPod. Katie was very excited for her mom’s annual Christmas Breakfast!!

Katie and Alyssa were able to stay in Kettle Falls for the remainder of the week. It was a great
getaway, which included a lot of snow… which leads to sledding. Unfortunately Katie took a hard fall the first sledding trip and ended up bruising her tailbone very badly. It was a great trip and so nice to be able to spend time with the family… but they were very eager to get home and see Dan!!

To end the Holiday Season, we brought in 2008 with our good friends Chris & Sarah. Quite a few people showed up and we all had a great time. It was easy to see that it was the beginning of an amazing year!!

A New Year, A New Begining..

Yes, we are aware that it's already February of 2008. As soon as the new year came in we thought it would be a perfect time to start a blogspot. We have a lot of wonderful events in our lives coming up and want to be able to share them with our family and friends. We hope that you enjoy reading them as much as we enjoy sharing them!

Here's a quick re-cap of where our lives currently stand:

Dan - Is on his 3rd year as a commerical plumber. He just finished a very exciting job building the new Seahawks practice stadium. Over the summer he sold his 72' C-10 Truck and bought a Chevy Malibu. He has it torn apart and re-painted. The hot-rod hobby had to be put on hold for a bit while we focus on more important things in our lives.

Katie - Is still working at the blood bank in Tacoma (going on 5 years) as a Laboratory Technical Assitant. She really enjoys her job, but hopes to someday run a small business from their home. Her hobbies include reading, crochet/knitting and The FoodNetwork.

Alyssa - Is 8 years old and in the 2nd Grade. She loves Math and Science. Her teacher has spent a majority of the year teaching them about the Native Americans. This is by far Alyssa's favorite subject. This spring Alyssa and Katie get to take a trip with the class to Tillicum Villiage to learn more!! For information visit: http://www.tillicumvillage.com/index.html. Alyssa is also very active in Girl Scouts and has been for a few years now. It has given her so many great opportunities. Alyssa also loves to cook... Her weekend breakfasts are hard to beat!

The three of us have a very close relationship and really enjoy spending time together. Lately we have been reading the Spiderwich Chronicles. Any free time we get we either watch movies or play board games.
